Weatherite cools shoppers in Midlands’ largest Marks & Spencers store

Leading UK air conditioning manufacturer, Weatherite, has supplied equipment to help keep customers cool at the department store opened by Marks & Spencer, the largest in the Midlands.

The Marks & Spencer store covers 150,000 sq ft over two storeys at the prestigious £100m Longbridge town centre and former MG Rover site. Four Weatherite air handling units were installed in the ground floor and first floor sales and staff areas. The packaged displacement units were designed and manufactured at Weatherite’s West Bromwich HQ at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant.

The contract was awarded to Weatherite by mechanical service contractor, Woodward & Co, which specialises in the design & installation of building services in the retail & leisure sectors.

Weatherite has worked with Marks & Spencer for more than 30 years and has installed hundreds of innovative air handling and air conditioning solutions across its UK stores. They are now in partnership together to design and manufacture air handling units across the water at two prestigious sites in Holland.
